If To or From Location = Business, then = Business

I manage various rental houses. When I go TO a rental house (known address), TripLog automatically records that segment as a Business Activity. But when I return Home, it records that segment as Personal Activity, and I then have to remember to manually fix it every time.
Suggestion: If Location = Business, then BOTH the TO and the FROM segments should default to Business Activity.

I understand. In your case you would not have personal locations or other things to override. In our application the determination is made this way due to the possibility of multiple business activities. While any business activity could be chosen, if I designate business 1 (real estate) vs business 2 (gen contractor) it is made to limit the need for interaction. While it does choose based on your settings initially you can always change it. I will pass along your feedback and thanks for your thoughts.

There are a couple of ways to accomplish this, you can set the location activity default to Business but if both locations have a default activity then the TO location will win. Meaning if your rental property is set to Business a trip to it from anywhere will be classified as business. but if the trip from that location to a location with a Personal default (Home) the TO location will be the one chosen. The other thing that will override that is the vehicle designation if the vehicle is set to Personal 100% of trips in that vehicle are personal no matter the time of day or location defaults.

Brian Tomihama Brian, Thnx for your reply and explanation. I STILL think my suggestion is a good one.
Consider that if the TO location (ie rental house) is Business, then the RETURN trip is also considered Business and is tax deductible, per IRS rules, even if I’m returning home (ie to a Personal location).
